Si usa per insaporire sughi e farciture, anche in combinazione con altre erbe aromatiche, per aromatizzare hamburger di carne, alcuni tipi di pesce, le zucchine, le patate, i pomodori ed i funghi. Sta bene nelle insalate e sulla pizza, anche se molti preferiscono il basilico.<\/p>\n<p>Si usa tanto anche per aromatizzare l&#8217;olio e non manca quasi mai nelle bruschette. C&#8217;\u00e8 chi lo usa proprio come ingrediente dell&#8217;impasto del pane, chi invece lo aggiunge alla fine. Una preparazione che sa proprio di origano sono le foccacce.
